I picked up a Dell laptop on eBay for £79.99. It is ageing a little, of course. But it has been refurbished with some nice upgrades - i5 processor, 256GB SSD - and is now running Ubuntu. I get nervous about my main laptop getting broken (or stolen), so I prefer to leave it at home. One of my jobs allows me time to work on my projects, so I will be happy to take this laptop everywhere. I think it is a small amount of money for the increase in productivity. I am also quite keen to play with a Linux machine. And I like recycling.
First impressions are good! It is in good condition, as advertised. Due to its age, the screen technology is not what I am used to. It is a bit fatter and heavier, too. But it’s more than good enough for what I have planned and better than I expected for the price. The performance so far has been more than adequate for the task. The seller has done a great job. Overall, very pleased!
